Specialty Events

What sort of specialty events does LAHF host?
Monthly mom’s night out, seasonal parties (such as Halloween, Valentines, etc..), a spring talent show, nature walks, group meet ups at various local hang outs, an annual summer time Messy Playdate, etc..

When are specialty events announced?
At the start of every school year (in August), the LAHF group leaders announce all the field trips, service projects, and gym days we have planned for the year. Our aim when we do the scheduling is five events monthly: two field trips, one service project, one gym day, and one mom’s night out. We also have seasonal parties and the occasional specialty event. Members can then sign up for and attend whichever events interest them. You are not expected to attend any event that does not interest you. We also encourage our members to use our Facebook group to organize and advertise their own events such as field trips, clubs, curriculum sales/swaps, and co-op classes.

Are specialty events open to unpaid members?
This depends on the event. Most of our specialty events are for paid members only, however we occasionally host events for unpaid members as well.
It will be made clear on each individual Facebook event page if unpaid members are welcome to attend or not.

Do specialty events cost money to attend?
This depends on the event. Most of our specialty events are free to attend, however we occasionally host events at venues that require parking fees and/or entrance fees.
It will be made clear on each individual Facebook event page if there are any extra costs associated with the event.
